High school senior Adilene Alonzo Hernandez shows off her certificate for Exceptional Student of the Month.

The Lewisville Noon Rotary club last week joyfully recognized two local high school seniors for their accomplishments: March 2024 Student of the Month Kimberly Arellano and Exceptional Student of the Month Adilene Alonzo Hernandez.

“Adilene is an outstanding student and her personal strengths are strong,” said Lewisville High School special education teacher, Melissa Heinz, adding that her teachers have been impressed with her persistence and grit. Hernandez has been accepted into both TWU and UNT for the fall and plans to become an art teacher after college.

LHS principal Jim Baker, student activities director Allison Stamey (second from left), LNR youth committee chair Sue Bowman, and club president Eyad Salloum joined Kimberly Arellano and her mother in honoring Arellano as Student of the Month.

March 2024 Student of the Month Kimberly Arellano is a student body multicultural officer at Lewisville High School and a member of the National Honor Society, the Kindness Club, and Youth Action Council, among other school organizations.

“Kimberly is somebody I admire because of the kind of person she is,” said Lewisville High School principal Jim Baker, who also was her principal in middle school. She is in the top 10 percent of the graduating class of more than 1100 students and has been awarded a $4000/year scholarship from the University of North Texas in Denton, Baker noted.

The Lewisville Noon Rotary is delighted to recognize these two outstanding young women for their accomplishments!
