The Lewisville Noon Rotary club last week honored Lewisville High School (LHS) valedictorian Kimble Gould as the Student of the Month for May 2024, celebrating her many achievements throughout her academic career.

“We have 1070 seniors who are graduating and Kimble is number one,” said LHS principal Jim Baker, who was joined by LHS student activities director Allison Stamey and Gould's parents in honoring the outgoing senior. “She’s also a two year captain of the tennis team and a four year member of the squad,” and a member of Interact, president of the Mu Alpha Theta mathematics honors society, a member of the Kindness Club, and a member of the National Honor Society, among many other accomplishments. Gould is heading to Southwestern University this fall where she plans to double major in biochemistry and feminist studies with the goal of attending medical school and eventually becoming a pediatric anesthesiologist.

Lewisville ISD special education teacher Madeline Alfaro (second from left) and incoming club president Sue Bowman (far right) also presented LHS senior Melanie Phelps with the award for the Exceptional Student of the Month for May 2024.

“Melanie is kind, hardworking, persistent and has great follow through,” said Alfaro, adding that Phelps has been part of the sports training class at LHS and works at Whataburger while attending school full-time. Phelps plans to attend Collin College after graduation and pursue a career in the medical field. We are confident she will have much success in her continued studies and wish her the very best in her future career!
