Businessman, motivational speaker, politician, and former professional football player Scott Turner will be the featured speaker at the August 4th meeting of the Lewisville Noon Rotary. Turner is a dynamic speaker with a fascinating background, and members are encouraged to bring a guest to what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable presentation. Currently a senior advisor to the National Football League (NFL), Turner played for the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos between 1995 and 2004, before beginning a second career in politics. In 2012, Turner announced his candidacy for the 33rd District of the Texas House of Representatives. He won the general election in a landslide, and was reelected to the House seat in 2014. In 2019, President Donald Trump appointed Turner to serve as the first Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC). In this role, Turner spearheaded an unprecedented effort to transform America's most distressed communities. Under his leadership, private entities invested more than $75 billion in Opportunity Zones. He continues to work toward transforming vulnerable communities as the CEO of Scott Turner Consulting Group and founder of the Community Engagement and Opportunity Council. |
