The lunchtime program for the Lewisville Noon Rotary club was packed with exciting happenings from start to finish last week, as the club inducted new members, recognized a local law enforcement officer, and gleaned insights from a stellar guest speaker. Here's a brief recap of everything that transpired: Attorney Phillip Herr of the law firm Dankesreiter & Emmet, LLP, was officially inducted in as Lewisville Noon's newest member. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Phillip earned six medals of service during his tenure in the Texas Army National Guard before completing his law degree at South Texas College of Law after his tour of duty. Phillip was an Associate Judge for Title IV-D Court #35 and had run his own practice in Flower Mound before joining Dankensreiter & Emmet. Phillip is pictured above with his colleague and membership sponsor, Tom Emmet (left), and LNR club president Dirk Dahlke (right). Rotarians Bill Collins (far left) and Buddy Bonner (far right) joined LNR president Dirk Dahlke to present new club members Pamela Shelton-Peevehouse (left) and Araceli "Sally" Quezada with their official blue badges. The Lewisville Noon Rotary is thrilled to have both these women as valued members of the club. Moments after receiving her blue badge, Rotarian Sally Quezada presented Detective David Nicaud of the Lewisville Police Department with the February 2022 Vocational Service Certificate of Excellence. Detective Nicaud serves the Department and citizens of the City of Lewisville as a Street Crimes Detective, SWAT team leader, firearms instructor and safety board member. This year, Detective Nicaud was instrumental in building the department's partnership with the US Marshall Service, creating task force officer positions, which provided crucial resources in the apprehension of violent offenders. He was nominated by Lewisville PD Chief Kevin Deaver and Assistant Chief Chris Clements, who stated that Detective Nicaud is committed to providing the City of Lewisville with an exemplary level of service and truly leads by example to pass that work ethic on to other officers. Foundations chair Steve Cox (center) and LNR president Dirk Dahlke presented Bill Collins with a pin from the Paul Harris Society for his generous contributions to the Paul Harris Foundation. Bill also received the Presidential Award last week from the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber's annual awards event for his dedication to the local community. And rounding out the events of last week's meeting, Dr. Marilyn Wiley, Dean of the University of North Texas Brint Ryan College of Business, presented on how the college can be a valued partner to the business community. In addition to her administrative role at UNT, Dr. Wiley is a Professor of Finance and a Chartered Financial Analyst. She has been active in various professional organizations, including vice president and board member of the Eastern Finance Association, president and board member of the Southwestern Finance Association, and track chair of the Southern Finance Association meetings. She currently serves on the Strategic Advisory Board for CFA Society of Dallas-Forth Worth, where she is a past president. She is also a director of the Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier accrediting agency for colleges of business. D-CEO Magazine has named her one of Dallas’ 500 most influential business leaders for the past four years, and the club was blessed to have her as a featured speaker. |
