New Year of Service Begins
As we begin a new calendar year, we look forward to our traditions of service as well as new and exciting opportunities to engage our community through the service and support of our many worthwhile non-profits.
Your Noon Rotary board for 2017-2018, and members of the 2018-2019 board, are participating in a planning retreat this weekend at Jim Attrell's Marluc Bella Vita Ranch outside of Jacksboro, charting a vision and plan for the coming year.
The board(s) look forward to discussing how to make this exceptional club even better, by seeking new ways to make a bigger impact for those in need: Our neighbors!
On January 3rd, Lewisville Noon Rotary welcomed Cory Largent, a local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) representative. Cory shared how FCA impacts young athletes through the ministry of coaches from middle school through college and, increasingly, through club sports.
To learn more about FCA, visit their website at www.fca.org. To support Cory in his ministry, visit his page at my.fca.org/corylargent
Mark your calendar and plan to attend the District 5790 Conference May 18-20, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency DFW. More information will be available on the District website in the coming weeks.
Guidelines for LNR Members
When Inviting a Speaker to Our Club:
Please advise your speaker that the purpose of his/her presentation is to be educational and informative.
Remind your guest speaker that we do not allow campaigning for office.
Ask speakers to refrain from advertising or promoting their business or soliciting business from Rotary members.
Please do not bring items to sell.
The club member should be sensitive regarding the vocations in our club when considering inviting a speaker. Make sure you know your speaker's topic and where vocational conflicts may exist. If there is an obvious conflict, please inform the members who might be affected.
Find out if your speaker will need the projector and screen and let the President-Elect know by Monday the week of the meeting.
Make sure your speaker knows that the meeting ends promptly at 1 pm. The presentation should end no later than 12:50 to allow 5 minutes for questions.
What's that? Don't know how to "like" something on Facebook? We can help. Contact:
