Congratulations to Lewisville High School (LHS) senior Trang Vo for being recognized as the November 2021 Student of the Month. Trang was honored at the club's meeting on November 17th and was introduced by LHS principal Jim Baker. "This young lady is a leader," he said, describing Trang's involvement in countless activities at the school. In addition to being vice president of both the Student Body and Student Council, she is the lead "Bonehead" for the high school's spirit group, part of the President's Club, a member of the National Honor Society, and president of the Interact Club, among other activities. Of her tireless efforts to support her fellow students, "She does it positively and with grace," Baker said. The Lewisville Noon Rotary club is delighted to honor Trang for her many accomplishments!

 

Rotarian Matt Michel was the guest speaker at the November 11th meeting of the Lewisville High School Interact Club, where he shared about his career path and answered questions from students. Interact is a community service club that partners with the Lewisville Noon Rotary to serve the local community and help students develop leadership and communication skills. The club meets every other Thursday in the Lecture Hall at Lewisville High School on Main Street, and the next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 2nd. Youth Committee Chair Sue Bowman is always looking for speakers who could take an hour out of their schedule to speak about their profession or other timely topics to the Interact students. If you want credit for a make-up, contact LNR Membership chair Terry Russell to let him know when and where you attended another Rotary club meeting, or the date and service activity that you participated in to count as a make up. You have two weeks before and two weeks after a missed meeting to make up for your absence. Make-ups are a great way to meet Rotarians from other clubs and become more engaged with the outreach activities we do in the local community!
