It is my pleasure to extend you all a gracious and hearty welcome to the 2020-21 Rotary Year. Without question, I am also excited, humbled and proud to take the helm in helping guide this great club’s future as your newly appointed President for the 2020-21 term. Let me further take this opportunity to thank our immediate Past- President, John Kazor and his capable Board for the exceptional leadership and service they have provided us in such a difficult past year.
As you know, we are currently in the midst of a global coronavirus pandemic crisis that few could have predicted the severity of pain and suffering it would present to our nation, business livelihoods, our families and also our Rotary Club. For months, we have now been quarantined in our homes adjusting to the new normal of commuting to our living rooms and joining a myriad of Zoom meetings. However, I am optimistic that this crisis may soon end for the better and provide us with opportunities for renewal and growth. Meanwhile, the health and safety of our members will remain my top priorities.
Finally, the Rotary Theme this year is “Rotary Opens Opportunities” and one of my goals will be to focus on further strengthening our club by encouraging young Rotarians to consider becoming our club’s future leaders. We have a challenging year ahead of us and I look forward to what we can accomplish together in continuing the Lewisville Noon Rotary tradition of exceptional leadership and service. Again, thank you my fellow Rotarians for your trust and confidence in handing over your club to my and great Board members care for this year.
Monday July 13th, Russ Kerbow (Pictured Left) presents a check to Boy Scout Troop 437 leader, Brad Korber (Pictured Right) from the Lewisville Noon Rotary. Thank you Boy Scouts for your hard work and service!
Adopt-A-Spot program meets every 1st Saturday of the month. July met on the 2nd Saturday so as not to conflict with Independence Day. Thank you to the LNR clean up crew for hauling off 6 bags of trash on a beautiful Saturday morning! Let's continue to Keep Lewisville Beautiful!
Rotary Foundation Chair Steve Cox for the 2019-20 year closes us out by presenting certificates to our newest Paul Harris Fellows, Dr. Michelle Martz and Fred Busche. Thank you both in joining the Foundation and we appreciate the contributes you've both made to Rotary International and the Lewisville Noon Rotary Club!!
The plan to resume in-person meetings has been delayed due to a recent Governor's order to reduce restaurant occupancy back to 50%. We will let you know when we have a new date for in person meetings.
Thanks to all our Patriot Flag subscribers for either renewing or adding flags this year. Memorial Day marks the first of 5 holidays when the Lewisville Noon Rotary with a big help from the Boy Scouts post flags at businesses in Lewisville. Rotarian James Lee recently snapped this photo with scouts putting out his flags this year. Thanks for your support, James!
